Nurstory and Nurse-Family Partnership have teamed up to offer nurses and nurse supervisors supportive, online spaces where personal struggles and moments of resilience can be shared and where virtual community can be cultivated. While trusted media outlets continue to provide crucial information and updates, our facilitators will draw on their years of experience with trauma-informed methods as they support the work of documenting every-day stories in these unprecedented times.

During these one-hour free sessions, NFP nurses are invited to examine moments and daily experiences that have challenged them deeply or uplifted their spirits, during these times of layered trauma impacted by COVID-19 and social and financial unrest in the context of systemic racism. Each session will include a short writing prompt and time to share those stories with yourself and others. A select group of you who wish to continue will follow up with a Nurstory facilitator to turn your story into a short movie. You'll also be able to publish your written story and accompanying image on the Nurstory/NFP websites. With permission, stories will be shared at online film festivals for NFP and at the annual symposium.

Please listen deeply to the stories below. Use them. Start meetings with them and reflect on your own work now and throughout your life. If you’re interested in having the Nurstory team facilitate sessions like these for your team, contact us!
